We were founded in 1955 to be a place for Glasgow University students to enjoy Scottish country dance. In the years since we have grown, and now provide classes for beginners and beyond, introducing generation after generation of students to the dance form.
Since our inception, we have worked closely with other University SCD clubs, from St Andrews, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Dundee, Newcastle and beyond, attending the Scottish University Scottish Country Dance Festival (SUSCDF) since its inception in Stirling in 1970.
We also work closely with other SCD groups in the Glasgow area. The RSCDS Glasgow branch, who run a number of events and balls throughout the year which we attend, and Alba SCD, our alumni group, founded in 1994, who run children’s classes and monthly social dancing.
